Other gulls used to pick on me, but I won't stand for it any longer ! 133 Auburn Road is my turf......so you other guys can look elsewhere for handouts........
.......Perhaps you'll understand if I tell you my story.....
.......When I was just a chick, I followed my mother to Ginny and Ken's house to get breakfast. But one morning, in the lagoon, somebody (maybe a turtle) grabbed my left leg and gave it a good twist. After that I couldn't walk so my friends fed me and kept me alive. Oh, I could fly fine but on land I'll have to admit I was a real Klutz !.....I just kept on tripping over that twisted foot.
My first winter we had a good snowfall (for Long Beach Island, anyhow), and I had some real problems, let me tell you ! The snow was about four inches deep and as usual I tripped over my foot and fell headfirst into the snow. I couldn't see a thing ! You can just imagine my fright.......there I was freezing cold and now blind as well........I flapped my wings for all I was worth and finally got free......what a relief !

.......Oh well, those days are behind me now; I'm an adult gull about eight years old( Ginny and Ken aren't sure......and I have no clue ) and I'm getting along just fine, although I still have lots of trouble walking.
I hang out on the bath house roof ( or on the 2nd story porch railing during cocktail hour )........I like to keep an eye on what's going on. Oh, and I'm smart enough......don't you worry about that ! In the morning I know that if Ginny reaches in the fridge I'll get some leftovers fed by hand so I stay on the bath house......but if she reaches into the cabinet under the sink, I know I'll be getting cat food so I fly down and stand next to my dish on the porch. That's right, I don't miss a trick........NoSiree !.......
Anyhow, I'll try to keep everyone up to date with some current photos.......Ciao.........Gulliver
